Start Your Holiday Shopping at the Gala! AnewAmerica’s Microbusiness Expo The Microbusiness Expo gave AnewAmerican entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their businesses, practice their sales skills, network and increase their customer base. The Expo was also a part of AnewAmerica’s overall Access to Markets program, which provides our clients with many ways to grow their business by connecting them with new, larger, and more lucrative markets. Thank You to Gala attendees for all of your wonderful business and support! Our entrepreneurs appreciated your enthusiasm!

2006 Silent Auction
This year's Silent Auction featured over $6,000 in prizes! Gala participants chose from wine tasting at Concannon Vineyard, a week in Cancun, and many other items! The first prize winner of the raffle took home a new digital camera, a coupon for fifty free prints, and four tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The second prize winner received a $25 gift certificate to the Fat Lady Restaurant. Third prize was two tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! AnewAmerica also sold Cecilia's Salsa, an organic, locally grown product from our Green Banana Kitchen.
Gala attendees experienced music from around the world! Musical styles from Africa, Indonesia, and Colombia were featured. Bantaba Music and Dance Ensemble Bantaba Music and Dance Ensemble was founded in 1989. “Bantaba” is a Mandingo word from West Africa that means a clearing or gathering place where important events take place. Founder Mosheh Milon has been working in the art of drumming for over 35 years, traveling to Africa yearly. Bantaba's mission is to unify humanity through cultural creativity. Their music, considered one of the most refined and challenging forms of Balinese Gamelan (musical ensemble), accompanies the Shadow Puppet theatre as well as major life ceremonies such as weddings, cremations and purification rites. Tambores de Colombia Tambores de Colombia has been entertaining audiences for over four years. Founded in San Francisco, this dedicated group volunteers their time to promote music from the northern Colombian Caribbean coast, such as Cumbia, Porro, Mapalé and other Caribbean rhythms. Musicians: Griselda Pinto, Mario Vinasco, Saúl Arrechea, Heriberto Castañeda, John y Alexis Roldán, Carlos Mario Aguirre, Ramiro Bernal, Joaquín Pla and Guillermo Delgado.
