Alice Waters Joins
AnewAmerica-WBC Advisory Board

We are thrilled to share the news that Ms. Alice Waters, world-renowned pioneer in the organic foods movement and owner of Berkeley’s Chez Panisse Restaurant, has joined AnewAmerica’s Women's Business Center Advisory Board!!

Ms. Waters, along with other amazing civic leaders and business women advisors to AnewAmerica’s business incubation, asset-building and social responsibility model, will be volunteering her extraordinary gifts in business and sustainable healthy foods for the benefit of hundreds of new American women entrepreneurs in the Bay Area.  AnewAmerica-WBC’s Advisory Board also includes US Congresswoman Barbara Lee as Honorary Chair and California State Senator Liz Figueroa.

AnewAmerica’s Women's Business Center is a new project in partnership with the Small Business Administration that will bring additional resources to hundreds of low-income Latinas, Asians and African new American women entrepreneurs in the Bay Area for their economic and social empowerment. Thanks to this new program from AnewAmerica, these women will access training, credentials, resources and networks otherwise unavailable to them because of cultural, language and race barriers. The uniqueness of the program is its 3 year ongoing support to each woman entrepreneur and her family with an integrated business, asset building and social responsibility program that increases their chance to succeed in business and economic advancement.

AnewAmerica’s Women's Business Center celebrated its grand opening on May 18 with an evening reception in Oakland.
