Oakland (Fruitvale District)

We are proud to be housed within the shelter of The Spanish Speaking Citizens' Foundation, an established institution in Oakland since 1965 whose mission is to” help East Bay families improve their lives, embrace their heritage, and develop as civic leaders by promoting educational enrichment and civic responsibility.”  Their work  in education, employment, leadership, immigration and citizenship information and referral is a good complement to our mission and services. The combination of on-site training and technical assistance providing a comprehensive array of microbusiness services, and a state of the art technology resource center makes AnewAmerica a hub for new American entrepreneurs in the Fruitvale community.

The AnewAmerica Computing and Communications Lab is equipped with 20 state-of-the-art workstations. Each workstation contains a laptop computer with the Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design software and internet access. The workstations are split between two rooms, each of which has a flat screen monitor for lectures and demonstrations. In addition, each workstation has access to color printing, fax and scanning equipment. Currently, approximately 100 community members have accessed technology through the lab. The lab is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
