AnewAmerica’s satellite office in San José opened in 2007, and quickly established itself as a resource center for the South Bay new American community. The center houses AnewAmerica’s three-year comprehensive microenterprise development program, Assets for New Americans: Virtual Business Incubator, including a six-month college certificate program in Business Planning (conducted in both Spanish and Vietnamese). Immigrant entrepreneurs also visit the center for workshops in financial literacy and foreclosure prevention, one-on-one technical assistance, and Business Action Circles, which provide specialized coaching to entrepreneurs on various areas of business operations and growth. The center also houses the AnewAmerica Computing and Communications Lab, sponsored by Comcast. The lab educates and enables entrepreneurs to leverage the power of technology for businesses growth.

Connie KlinkConnie Klink, General Manager -- Small Business, San Jose
Connie Klink comes to Anew America after 14 years as program manager in the for-profit telecommunications sector in Latin America. During her work in telecommunications, she developed and implemented strategies for negotiations with customers and managed contracts for numerous projects. Connie also worked as a financial advisor in banking institutions in California for two years. As a financial adviser, she helped families at all income levels take the necessary steps to establish and meet their financial goals. In particular, she assisted low-income Hispanic families to purchase affordable housing with Cal HFA programs and effectively coordinated the procedure to pre-approve housing loans for farm workers in Salinas, CA. Throughout her professional life, Connie has successfully grown the businesses where she worked and also increased productivity and sales. She enjoys challenges and likes to apply her organizational skills to solve real-world problems. Connie has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science/Business Administration and licenses in Real Estate and Insurance.
